I recently got a very nice and never issued 1980's Russian R399A HF
receiver with its R399T Pan-adapter. However it is a rather complicated
piece of equipment if you can't read the language on the front panel.

As far as I can tell everything is working ok but on the receiver I can't
figure out how to program the channels and the various ways of channel
scanning.

The Pan-adapter is producing a signal display so this is working also. The
Pan-adapter is a very sophisticated unit what is potential very useful
because the IF input is selectable between 128, 215, 465, 500 and 1315 KHz
(the R399A has an IF of 215KHz)

This unit is a signal analysing system and because of this it has many
controls and inputs of which I have problems in understanding their
function. The manual is in Russian and I have tried to scan and translate it
with Google translate but because of the very low quality of the paper used
for the manual and consequently the poor printing this is only marginally
useful.

Anyone of our members has knowledge about this system?

Thanks, Nico - PA3ESA
