[Premium-Rx] WJ 8718 DOA

Hello,

I am new to this group and I am already enjoying the archives. I collect US and Russian communications equipment as well as WWII vintage gear.

I have a rather frustrating problem. I bought one of the 8718s from an EBay supplier in China. When the radio arrived it was DOA. All that happens is a loud hum form the line out terminals and the decimal point of the display lights. No digits light.  I have made sure that all cards are seated and even cleaned the card edges. Of course I have never used this receiver so perhaps the jokes on me but I am not looking forward to returning this. I do need to say that the seller has been cooperative and in no way do I think that he purposely shipped me a dog. But again, if I can solve this problem I am avoiding a lot of shipping fees.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
