Hi All,
Can anyone out there help, I'm looking for an audio output transformer for an R-390 receiver T602.
It's a reasonably common transformer in receivers of this vintage, having a 10K primary and two 300R secondaries (usually connected in series to give 600R).
The one in my receiver has an open circuit primary winding, and although I could replace it with a modern unit, it would be nice to find an original part.
So to that end I'm looking for either a transformer or an AF deck assembly for an R-390, not A. Preferably in the UK or Europe to avoid high shipping costs, but anywhere in the world will be OK....
Secondly does anyone know of a source of 3TF7's this side of the pond? I know they can be replaced / worked around reasonably easily, but I like to keep my receivers original, and could do with acquiring some at a reasonable price.
Finally, and I know this is a question for the various R-390 groups out there, but I may as well ask. Does anyone know the cause of a parculiar fault I'm seeing on my Rx, whereby the receiver works perfectly with the BFO turned on, but the received audio all but disapears when it's turned off?
It's not a big issue, but does not seem to make any sense as the BFO only inects a 455Khz signal into the mix, so removing the BFO signal should not affect the detector operation at all, but it does.
I can still receive AM simply by zero beeting the BFO, but it's a strange fault, and I'm just wondering if anyone has seen it before.
Thanks yet again for your help,
Dave.S.
