Many times I've  bridged receivers directly to share an antenna  instead of using a coupler and really didn't notice any significant difference at least to my ears. Albeit I never tried to  see if my Collins mulitcoupler would improve my ability to heaar something down in mud or very close to a powerful station   Let the good times roll!
