[Premium-Rx] WJ-8712 Firmware.

Hi All,

Does anyone know what the latest version of firmware released for the 
WJ-8712 was?
Mine has version 3.0.1 control, and 4.0.0 DSP.
I'm just curious to know if there is any later firmware out there, or 
even better, if there is obtain a copy...

The most frustrating thing about my WJ-8712 compared to my WJ-8711A is 
the fact that the SSB bandwidth is fixed at 3.2Khz, which seems weird as 
it's only derived in the DSP so I don't know why WJ did it like that in 
the first place.
It would be nice for it to be variable up to the bandwidth of the 
roofing filter the same as the 8711A.

I'm tempted to try a copy of my WJ-8711A firmware in it, as it used the 
same PCB's  but haven't been brave enough so far, theirs a lot of 
money's worth of kit at stake should something go drastically wrong.

I'm also tempted to make a PIC based front panel for it, as it would be 
pretty straight forward to get the PIC to run round a loop scanning some 
buttons and issuing the required serial command from a lookup table if 
it detects a button push.
Before I start playing with doing it that way, has anyone else tried 
anything similar, or is it easier to use the "Test connector" on the 
front panel, which is in effect where the front panel would plug in, in 
a WJ8711A.
In fact their is a "test jig" referred to in the manual, which is in 
effect identical to a WJ-8711 but "without the guts" of the receiver.
At a guess these are unobtainable, akin to rocking horse droppings, but 
if anyone in the group has one they would like to throw away it would be 
much easier to use one of these rather than re inventing the wheel :-)
