Subject: The Care and Feeding of BIG batteries

Recently I was asked a question about the
batteries in Canada's now retired Oberon class submarines.
This naturally led to some interesting research
in an area where I've never been. For anyone who is interested in the care and
feeding of two 440volt 7,420 amp/hr batteries, you can read my short summary of
the Electrical training manual in the "Batteries and Charging System" section
of document http://jproc.ca/rrp/rrp2/oberon.html

For anyone who needs more detail, I have posted
the entire 71 page training manual to http://jproc.ca/rrp/rrp2/oberon_battery_and_electrical.pdf
