Terry, this indeed is a very fascinating HF-2050. It is unlike any I've ever come across. Instead of the usual serial numbers, it is listed as "E4". I suspect that this is one of a very small batch. Also, instead of the usual Type number "HF-2050", this one as added "I-Q output". From the photo, it has the preselector board (which my last 2050 had, and is rare in itself). The name plate is not Canadian either, so I wonder whether this was built in Cedar Rapids, instead of Toronto. I used to have a disk with all the NATO stock numbers. It would be interesting to look this one up. May I ask the origin of your receiver. ie, how you obtained it? It is mysterious!

PS: Unfortunately, I no longer own any 2050s.

Good morning Walter--Hope you are well and enjoying the beautiful providence of B.C. Wish I was there--one day I hope. Anyway I am sending a pic of the plate on the back of my radio and maybe you can shed some light on it. I would like to know as much as possible about it. I emailed Clemmens Ostgarrd and he said you might have a better idea. So here it is. I look forward to hearing from you.

I've owned at least 8 2050s over the years, and have seen many times that
number. Never have seen any with ISB, and a few rare ones with the
Preselector board installed. Most don't. Most have only 30 memories, while
a few late models have 100......Walt Salmaniw, Victoria, BC
