Scott,
Yup, my GPR-90 was like that too and finally quit altogether. It was a bad crystal. International Crystal in Oklahoma City has a file "on filing cards" that gives the formula for an exact replacement. It's not on their computer system.
Had a parts analysis guy look at the original...it was non-hermetic.
The surgery wasn't much fun, but it works great now.

Hi, has anyone worked on the second conversion oscillator subchassis on a
GPR 90?
I stumbled across one that doesn't want to work on the double conversion
bands, and it seems like the 3500 kc second conversion mixer xtal isn't
oscillating, but it's on one of those pesky subchassis that looks like a bear to
get out (perhaps requiring unsoldering a while lotta stuff, which may be
why no one fixed it)
I was wondering of per chance anyone knew a trick to do this, or the
appropriate reflector to try.
At least it doesn't have proprietary chips I can't find :)
Thanks and 73 Scott
