I use one for close in ( 1000 miles or less ) aircraft on 4.5 mhz
and 7.6 mhz with excellent results. It is configured as a sloper
between the guys of a 90ft tower with the bottom end up 20ft
on the shore of a lake.  It can take the power and the operator
on the other end is above 20,000 ft., so It has its' uses but they are
limited to specific circumstances where gain is not important.
