Hi All,

Sorry if this one is a little off topic but I'm a little short
of options.

I've just acquired a second hand Dressler ARA-2000 active
antenna. I already have an ARA-500 and an ARA-1500, I know they are not
to everyone's taste but I have very limited space and can't mount a
decent antenna outside at any decent height.

The problem is that the
new ARA-2000 is totally and utterly deaf.
I have managed to open it up
and the active element is a single 3 pin plus tab SMT device marked
0015.
I am guessing it must be U/S as it's getting power but acting
more like an attenuator than an amplifier. So much so that the coax
feeder receives more signal when it's disconnected from the antenna
than it does when it's connected.

My question to the group is, can
anyone identify the mystery 0015 device?
I'm guessing it is a FET of
some sort but can find no data on the net pertaining to it. The nearest
thing I can find mention of is a TA0015 which appears to be some form
of wide band CATV amplifier but although it sounds like a likely
candidate I can not find any data sheet for the device to confirm if it
is the correct item.

Has anyone repaired one of these before, and if
so can anyone recomend a replacement device, or indeed the correct
device.

Cheers and sorry again that the questions off topic,
Dave.S.
