Frank:
We are neighbors (Stamford/Shelton).
Maybe somewhere down the road we can put it on the bench in my shop. Right now we are going through a total mess called "home renovation," but that should be resolved soon.
In the meantime, with the power off, unplug/replug all the modules and any other inter-board (ribbon-type) connectors. Later, power up the unit and gently tap all the gold coax interconnects. Use a nonmetallic probe, like the south end of a ballpoint pen. You will be testing for interconnect integrity, looseness, intermittents, contact corrosion, etc. Listen for noises as you tap, or some indication of a bad connection.
I'm not familiar with Norlan equipment, but will take a look around for some/any paperwork.
Good luck,
Bob, N1KPR

Well... my progress has been very little. It did start to receive,
but not in the expected frequencies, and it's no longer stuck in
remote. The biggest news is that I've decided to make page for it on
QSL, http://qsl.net/kb1qzh/
Right now only hi-res jpegs are there, http://qsl.net/kb1qzh/p_norlin/
but I will be working on it little by little
Thanks
frank b. kb1qzh
