Very interesting !
I have been in radio work for ages and go back close to 50 years as a
technician and radio hobbyist, as well as a ham since 1970. I have never
seen a line of receivers like the Watkins Johnsons that have so many
modifications, revisions, etc. It seems, that every WJ-8716 or WJ-8718 is
different from each other having different cards and different mods yet they
generally end up serving the same function as each other. Crazy !
I just received another email from a list member with a spec sheet for the
real bonafide battery for these receivers. It is a Varga model
#55615-702-012 battery. They sell for $12.95 plus shipping and are available
