Michael,
Ubuntu is Swahili for "can't install debian".

Ben: You're too harsh ;-)
Michael: Ubuntu is a very pleasant Linux based operating system. Free and
user friendly for all those people who want to stay away from Mr Gates and
those who may perhaps not have the experience to install Linux the command
line way. It brings Linux to the masses which I can only applaud.
Regards,
John

Cough, cough! Since I paid a fraction of that for my 2 copies (new), I'm quite surprised. They're obviously collector's items...Walt

Gents,
$100 for a copy of Osterman. Come off it. The price marked on mine is
$24.94. A x 4 inflation is ridiculous, but then to quote the great Thomas
Tusser, "A fool and his money are soon parted".

Books often soar in price on the used market after they go out of print. I
know many examples of books that I could have bought at reasonable prices,
that are now hundreds of dollars each, and that I would dearly love to have.
Simply the market in action - supply and demand and all that. I would not
have it any other way!

Well some joker on Abebooks is trying to get $162.97 for a copy! I
guess this must be *our* fault for sitting on our copies and restricting
the supply!

I dunno, I figured that $100 shipped for a book in very good condition was a lot better than $160 and $4 shipping for the same thing or worse. Maybe someone realllllly wants one of these. Apparently somebody buys them!

While the asking price initially caused me to seize up and quick look
on Amazon finds three used starting at $160.00

Of course you don't actually know that, all you can say for sure is that
somebody is trying to sell them at that price, which is not quite the same
thing as knowing somebody is buying them.
Either way it's still a rip-off, and there's one going through Ebay right
now at around $40 if anyone is interested.
