A source inside DRS told me Finmeccania sees nothing beyond financial
data.  They are the "owners" only in the financial sense.

Back in 1960, when the founder, Ralph Grimm, and the handful of engineers
and executives were the original owners, even they were tangled in
financial strings that were held by an outside company (now known as
Ferris Baker Watts).

BTW, the lead designer of the 8711A still works in that building and loves
his work.  Somewhere in my notes, I have his side of the story.
