To all WJ experts-
Before I go and spend money on replacement displays for a couple of WJ-9605 controllers, I thought I should confirm or disprove what I had heard as a rumor.
These displays appear to be used in a variety of WJ products (WJ-9605, WJ-9607, WJ-9548, WJ-9543, WJ-9497, etc..). Over time, lines of the display go out, creating entire lines and columns that are missing. When this becomes severe, the display become pretty unreadable.
I had heard from some who claim to be familiar with these displays that the problem is often not the display itself but rather that the connector has become intermittent. In this case, I am taking "connector" to mean the conductive "rubber-like" interface to the display, rather than any actual metal connector between the display assembly and the controller circuit boards.
Some replacement displays appear to be available from readers of Premium RX. Before I spend $140 for a replacement display, I thought I should check and see if there is a simpler solution of just cleaning or "adjusting" the display edge connection to fix the missing lines. I would appreciate comments from anyone who has had to deal with this and has any insights.
Please drop me a line.
Thanks!
