Like you, I would think that would do it, Andrew, but unfortunately,
pressing the REM key and all other keys have either no effect or no
significant effect on the receiver. Still boots up REMOTE LINK FAILED.
I will try the reset and other tips list members have provided when I get
back home where the receiver is.
I visited the Telford Website in hopes of finding a manual, but the nearest
they had listed was for the "3700 series" and the "3710 series." Since the
3791 has DSP circuitry, there may be some operational commonalities, but the
op/tech manuals must be different for the 3790 series. I took advantage of
their offer to "contact us if you don't see what you want" and will see how
they respond. Perhaps the 3700 or 3710 series manual would at least provide
some operation similarities if they don't come up with one for the 3790
series.

What happens if you press the remote key (REM) ? Does that not toggle
between local and remote control?
