I have no experience of asking or getting anything out of Harris, but in the 
"good old days", there was a very friendly man in charge of Racal's manual 
department at Bracknell who would willingly copy manuals and provide usefuul 
information.  Sadly Racal eventually binned most of their old stock, and 
probably the guy as well, and what is now around has often been a rescue job 
from the rubbish bins or skips.

The irony is that Marc Christian of Telford Electronics was sometimes asked 
by Racal to supply them with copies of their own manuals!
