Baruch - The password issue is a good question. I have a Racal 3711 receiver and associated sigint analysis equipment that occasionally requires a password. I was given the password when I purchased the set unused, but was not told about changing or circumventing the password if I lost it. I might be one piece of paper away from a disaster, so I am interested in your problem in case it becomes mine.
I have two of these sets but haven't tried the PW on the second one since it's still unused in the plastic wrap. I believe they have the same PW (four digits BTW), so it might be resettable from a menu. I don't have to enter the PW each time I use the set, but it's required for some operations (cannot remember which ones, sorry). Nor can I tell you anything specific about your Harris.
I will check the limited manual I have to find out whether my Racal PW can be changed and how. Maybe your Harris works the same way or it could give you a clue.

Subject: [Premium-Rx] HARRIS RF-5022R/T FALCON
Hi to All!
Got a new radio. The Harris RF5022R/T.
Basically it's a SDR radio with DSP with a zillion features that I am sure I
can't use
Hopping ,Encrypt ,etc.
Does anybody on the list has any info diagrams , books ,manual that I can
get and pay for it?
The radio goes through BITE and all is good but when I try to program it to
a new frequency it asks for a password to get into the main Manu
How do I zero it bypass this obstacle?
Many thanks and 73's
