Dreading the thought of having to go through an on-line sale, I had reservations of selling this way. Heinz was the first to reply asking for photos, within minutes, he agreed to the price, sent a shipping address, asked for a shipping cost estimate. He even went so far as to offer to pay packing costs over a certain amount, a kind gesture. That next morning asked for payment method and my address. Within hours a Bank Draft for the sale price on its way Air Mail, which is fine by me!

Joe, I'm glad your transaction went smoothly. I know that I would be proud to own your 2050...truly a receiver of beauty. Well I still have one last 2050 which is presently a rack mounted unit. It's unique in that Jan Skirrow modified in a way to solve the power supply heat problem. As usual, the solution was an elegant one with the power supply carefully removed and mounted on it's own 19" rack mount. I simply mounted this above the 2050 in a 6' rack. No more heat problem to worry about! It performs flawlessly without any indication of increased noise, etc. I also mounted a tiny axial fan to blow onto the now externalized power supply, "just in case". This modification is detailed and written up nicely on Jan Skirrow's website (at least it was there the last time I looked at it). What was beautiful about the modification is that it could be easily reversed without any trouble and without marring the original design and chassis, if so desired. I hear that others might be interested in the 2050. I'm prepared to accept offers on this one as well, although I was looking at $1500 USD plus shipping (my 2nd last ended up in Denmark...now that was expensive to ship, but the double boxing was very big....as I recall, postage was around $250 to Europe!). Unfortunately, I'm out of the manual reproductions, but they are available from time to time, and I've heard of pdf versions on CD as well. ....Walt Salmaniw, Victoria, BC
