Mike:
Thank you very much for the Mackay info.
I'm using a 3030A which shares a close kinship with the 2030 lineage.
I agree in some way that it isn't a "premium" receiver in the context that we are used to seeing and using, but in terms of build quality and technical specs it's a pretty good radio.
This model will be going on loan to a client for surveillance work and then to another for off-air signal monitoring and air checks. Right now, I have it on the bench and am doing some performance tests. (Site below) For several nights, I'll be playing with subjective comparisons with a Racal 6790/GM and a W-J 8718A (-9). The first two nights of listening (and fun) show the Mackay in very favorable light. It surely ain't no band surfer, but it is dead on and stable as a rock. I'm sure the surveillance and monitor guys will love it.

Anyhow, thanks again for the very valuable info ... it's really appreciated.

Add to the above most of the manual for the ITT-Mackay 3020
at <http://mikea.ath.cx/3020/>. It isn't really a premium RX, but the
manual appears to be so much unobtainium or available only for money --
until now.

Enjoy.
