Sorry about the blank message - forgot to set it to plain text only.
Perhaps the best description is a "tunable narrowband converter" with
500 KHz - 30 MHz input and 455 KHz output.
Now one could marry up the 6830JD with a Watkins Johnson tunable
demodulator and have a complete receiver.
