Gentlemen,

As mentioned in previous posts, I have been actively seeking the manual
for a WJ-8770-1 Transportable HF Receiver. 
Indeed, judging by the feedback I received since then, it appears that
several other owners of these fine radios have been on a similar quest. 

Thanks to a suggestion given to me by one of this list's helpful members,
I contacted a resource capable of providing me with a reprint of the
original manual. 
However the quotation I received from them left me in a state of shock!
They are asking 345.00 US Dollars for the manual of a twenty year old
obsolete radio! 
This greatly exceeds the price I had expected, especially considering
that I didn't pay that much more for the radio itself. 
Regrettably, there does not appear to be any other source for the book,
and it therefore boils down to how badly you want a copy of this
document. 

There is however another approach to this dilemma: 
Several of the gentlemen wishing to obtain a manual have expressed an
interest in chipping in towards the purchase of one manual. 
For example if four of us take part, the cost would be 345.00/4 = 86.25;
a far more equitable price; obviously, the more contributors, the better.
