[Premium-Rx] CUBIC R2412 POWER SUPPLY NEEDED

Alan:

I can't help directly, but the description in the R2412 manual sounds a
lot like the 3030 power supply (no schematics in the R2412 manual that's
available on-line.)

I had one of the power supply modules in my R3030 fail a year or so ago
and found the problem to be the 8-pin IC control chip, UC2842. I
replaced it (added a socket for future replacements) and it's been fine
since. The UC2842 is still in production, or at least it was last year.

I have some photos of the power supply module at
http://www.cliftonlaboratories.com/april_2008.htm under the 23 April
2008 entry.

As far as switching power supplies go, the 3030's isn't all that hard to
work on and it can be made to run on the bench without too much trouble.
It needs an isolation transformer, of course, as a matter of safety.
