Because they do look alike, I would suggest referring to the manuals for 
each bit of gear for confirmation.  The Mouser catalog page will have 
links to the manufacturer's data sheets with dimensions etc., for the 
two types.

So don't take my word for it in case there are different versions.  I 
have just fitted the 3.6 Volt one in my RF-590 so I know that is the 
correct one for that radio.  As Todd said the 2.4 Volt one is correct 
for all the later Racals and they do look very similar.
