Hello there. I have a 590H. In the "H" supplement, the following passage
notes:
"In the standard receiver, bandwidth values displayed on the front panel
are selected on the A14 Assembly with DIP switch S2. This switch is not
used in the enhanced model ("H" model). Bandwidth values are fixed (not
selectable) in the 590H Receiver, and are displayed for each selected
demodulation modes as follows:
usb,lsb,isb - 3.2kHz
am - 6.0kHz
fm - 16.0 kHz
cw - 0.3kHz
I have always wanted to get more filter choices in this radio
I am looking to possibly purchase an IF filter board with the following
filters:
-SSB bandwidth filters: 2.7 and 3.2 KHZ, CW 2.7 KHZ and 300 HZ and AM
6.8 KHZ and 16 KHZ
It has the following part numbers on it: 14304; 10151-5570; 10151-5579 A
I was told that this board has been used successfully in a 590H.
Does anyone know if this is really possible to work in an "H"? Does
anyone know if in order to make this board work in an "H" does one have
to use the S2 dip switches to get it to be recognized?
I guess the passage in the manual isn't clear whether it is impossible
to add filters (switch S2 is somehow disabled or has no effect) or
whether its just not sold that way so that switch S2 isn't used, but
could be.
Anyone know?
Thanks
Eugene
