Premium RXers-
I am curious how many of you have been using receivers originally intended for EMI/EMC level measurement work for general radio listening purposes. Receivers might include R&S ESH HF or ESVP VHF/UHF receivers or other older/newer receivers originally intended for this use. These are all premium in price and in performance (although, often having limited IF bandwidths or demodulation modes relative to communications or intercept receivers).
There are also a number of receivers floating around out there that may have been used for EMI/EMC work or could also have been used for TEMPEST evaluation...oops, now a few three-letter organizations will be watching my emails!
In any case, if you have been using anything like this please drop me a line or post to the list.
Thanks,
Spencer Bahner N7UMO
