I have to agree with Walt.  The 2050... even though older technology by
today's standards, had many firsts for its time.  It will always be looked
at as a collectors item for that reason.

I certainly don't agree with that (the not highly thought of).  There were
many firsts with this receiver, and the audio recovery from this first DSP
receiver was, and still is, rather phenomenal.  Are there better?  That's
for each of us to decide, but in my view, it's the sweetest sounding
receiver I've ever owned.  I certainly preferred it to it's replacement, the
Harris RF-590 series.  We all know about the heat problem....agree with you
there.  Everything I've ever read about it (and from 25 years of Canadian
military service) points towards a world class and revolutionary receiver
for it's day.  Although prices have moderated, every time one shows up on
eBay, the interest is definitely still there......Walt Salmaniw, Victoria,
