Berndt,
I've been using BAX Global for years to ship heavy radio equipment
(I'm a "boatanchor" radio collector/user) from Europe, UK and even
from Australia to the US. They usually ship by air, although you can
use ocean freight as well. They consolidate shipments, meaning that
they attach your shipment to a larger bulk freight to the same
destination for saving on expenses.
Unfortunately, because of the price of fuel nowadays, I noticed that
it costs almost double the amount per kilo than about 4 years ago
because of the fuel surcharge. My last shipment - this month - of a
Warsaw Pact surplus transmitter (107 kg crate) from Germany ran me
about US$8.50 per kg, whereas when I shipped the last time before
this, 4 years ago it cost US$4.5 per kg!
