G'day Rick,
Thanks for your kind reply. I'm aware that Toronto sells these displays. I
have been quoted for two displays @ US$165 each + US$95 shipment. The cost
of recplacing both displays would amount to US$425. An expensive exercise
when planning to refurbish three Harris rigs... :(
I'm trying to find a cheaper option. The displays used are industry standard
VFD's. I currently don't know the original manufacturer of the displays used
inside Harris equipment. Perhaps someone in the know can give us a clue to
solve this puzzle.
Sofar, I found displays manufactured by Futaba that look physically the same,
have electrically closely matching parameter. There may be other
manufacturers that I'm not aware off. Cost of these displays, if available,
are expected to be much lower than those offered by Toronto.
With the money saved on the displays, I may be able to afford the "Big Iron"
RF110 amplifer... :)
73, Berndt
