Hi Gang,
Can anybody help Michael out?? I'm afraid I don't know anything about the
Raytheon R-1230, but it sounds like an interesting receiver.

Subject: Receiver restoration
Hi! I saw your webpage on the Nation HRO-600 restoration and thought you
may be able to supply some advice on a similar project I am undertaking.
A fellow I know recently gifted me with a Raytheon R-1230 receiver. It was
in pretty good shape, but came with spare boards and some scattered
documentation. Upon closer examination it turns out there was no serial
number and looking at the paperwork, found that it was engineering notes for
upgrades and improvements. I believe I have the lab prototype for the "A"
version!
I have been looking and asking around for documentation on this this
receiver. It is a high performance lab grade receiver with digital phase
lock and synchronous demodulation. The hand written documentation is hard
to decipher. Any leads on how I might find a factory manual for the 1230A ?
The rig was designed at the Goleta plant in the early 70's. Your help would
be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Michael Guerre, N6XZH
