[Premium-Rx] Racal RA6217A-7 HF / Shortwave Receiver

Good morning gentlemen,

Last night I purchased a used Racal RA6217A-7 HF Receiver on eBay.
Regrettably, the seller doesn't have any documentation for it, and apart
from knowing that it works, has little additional knowledge concerning
this radio.
I personally don't know much about it either and did some extensive
searching on the Internet, but was unable to locate any further details.
I vaguely remember someone praising its attributes back in the 70's but
little else...

Is anyone familiar with, or ever owned a RA6217A-7?
I would appreciate your opinion about the receiver's strengths and
weaknesses, and how it compares to some of the more modern sets.
Furthermore, I would really like to obtain a copy of the operator/service
manual with the receiver's specs, schematics and alignment procedure.

Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
