[Premium-Rx] Modulation in ferrite

Hello to all.
 
This is not strictly premium receiver stuff...but it is related...
 
Does anyone know if ferrite materials are capable of being used (or  
behaving) as an RF mixer at low RF powers  (less tham 0.5mW)?
 
I have an intermodulation problem on a receiver antenna system, and  the only 
element left to 'suspect' is a ferrite cored transformer.
 
Any info on the subject would be appreciated - I haven't been able to find  
anything on the 'net.
