Hi - I am a new boy on the block, I have just acquired a WJ Receiver, I have a considerable amount of "high end" test equipment, which is my prime interest - this is the first Receiver I have had in many years - and the introduction of the microprocessor has certainly changed them !

Has anybody encountered the WJ 8607 Receivers - (2.0 MHz to 2032 MHz) with a comprehensive range of search facilities. They are housed in an equipment Frame with LCD readout and full controls - there is a IEEE-488 , RS 232 and a Net as alternative control facilities. This is a high spec. item that originally cost a large amount of dollars !, and I guess was only purchased by Government/Military departments.

I have found my way around the basic controls and it certainly performs exceedingly well. The more difficult aspect is the 'search' facilities, which again appear to be very comprehensive. This gear was introduced in the early 1990's and it would appear that it is pretty well impossible to obtain a manual - the best I have found to date, is the [ watkins-johnson.terryo.org] , which offers the original spec. sheets for a number of WJ equipments. Unfortunately there are no operating details. Can anybody offer any advice on this WJ equipment ?

many thanks

Roy
