I just acquired a WJ MP-101-5 Meter Panel. After replacing a few capacitors
it appears to be working. Overall condition is very good. I'm intending to
use it with my 8617 / 8618's that do not have a panel meters. The selective
BW IF output will or wide IF output can be used with this unit.
The MP-101-5 (19" Rack Meter Panel) takes the 21.4 MHz IF output from a
receiver and does a number of things. The front panel meter provides a
selective comparison reading in db / uV, peak and average. There are outputs
for video, audio, and phones. Controls on the front panel are for Video
Gain, Meter Zeroing, Pulse Stretching, Slide Back, and Audio Gain. What's
interesting is that this version has a built in 5W audio amplifier that
outputs to the rear panel (600 and 3.2 Ohms). I think this was intended to
be used with the S-9902A rack speaker. Everything appears to be working.
Now I need to align it. Does anyone have information on this component?
Best Regards,
Steve Pappin
