I agree completely with Don's opinion and don't want this question to in
any way disparage the unit he has available, but I seem to have trouble
with the one I have been using for a number of years. It was made for
TMC by RCA Ltd. of Montreal, and is badged as CU-5069/FRD-10A(V), but
the manual supplied was for the TMC AMC-32 which seems to be identical.

For no apparent reason, an output will go dead, even though I haven't
done anything to cause it. Once or twice I will admit I've keyed a
transmitter into an output, which of course destroys the transistor, but
even after eliminating any and all connections to a transceiver, I've
still got several dead outputs again, after going through the unit a
couple of years ago and replacing dead transistors (with new heat sink
grease).

If anyone has experienced this and can offer any suggestions I'd welcome
them. The only thing I've found is the addition of cooling fans per
this article: http://www.skirrow.org/Boatanchors/TechTalk6.pdf
Also looking for a source of reasonably priced 2N3866s.

The multicoupler is the perfect way to have multiple receivers available
and really a nice piece of equipment.

Thanks and 73,
Bob W9RAN
