Interesting addendum about the ADC.
Contrary to the brochure all EM510 of the series production use a 24bit ADC.

According to the R&S engineers the phase noise comes mainly from the ADC clock
while the aperture jitter of the ADC adds only little phase noise.
R&S uses an ADC from Analog Devices with a sampling rate of around 80MHz.
Maybe it might be custom designed because there have been meetings between top engineers
>from R&S and Analog Devices during the development.
But that's speculation.
