[Premium-Rx] Premium List - Bouncing Email

Hi All ...

At the request of the QTH.NET guys, I have tightened bounce processing
for the list. I had a really loose configuration on the old server, but
excess bouncing in an operation as large as QTH.NET has major cost
implications for them.

Bounce processing is part of the server software that notes what
outgoing email is returned as undeliverable for any reason. It uses a
complex algorithm, but in effect, if your mail bounces very much over a
short period of time, your subscription is automatically suspended. You
will be notified of this repeatedly until either the bouncing stops, or
the server decides you're not home, and unsubscribes you.

Greg and I do get notices when this happens, but not much we can do if
the email address is invalid.

So - please keep your email address current and don't let the posts pile
up on your ISP. My impression is that much of the bouncing occurs
because people have exceeded the size of their mailbox, as set by their
ISP.

Jan & Greg
