[Premium-Rx] Something to know about QTH Lists - Please Read

QTH.NET requires - so far as I know - that posts be sent to it in plain
text - not HTML. The old server was setup to accept either, which was my
preference (given the size of our list) and caused the least difficulty
for subscribers. But that can't happen here.

So - if you have a problem posting as a result of this, you should
receive an explanation from the QTH server.

You need to set your email client to send posts to the list in plain
text. In the client I use (Thunderbird) you simply go to Tools - Options
- Composition - Send Options - Plain Text Domains, and enter
mailman.qth.net in the box. This will apply to any of the QTH.NET lists
and has no effect on how you prefer to send email to others. You can
continue to use HTML in your posts, but if it goes to QTH.NET it will be
sent as plain text.

I have no idea if other email clients have such a nice fix - but if you
do know, please let the list know.

This is simply a cost issue for QTH. They process enormous volumes of
email. Sticking to plain text substantially reduces the bandwidth used,
and thus cost. This wasn't a problem with our old list, but would have
become one fairly soon, as the list numbers were about to trigger a
higher charge due to increased bandwidth.

Thanks

Jan
