You probably have a blown mixer. A very common problem as the mixer is virtually connected to the antenna. The original mixer is a WJ M9D. I have read several places that a Mini Circuits mixer can be used as a replacement. ( SRA-3H). A little surgery is called to use the replacement mixer.

For over a month my ISP has been treating me as a spammer and all my outgoing mail has been dumped with no notification. After spending over 2 hours with them I got them to admit that they really screwed me over and were like communist censors, what a bunch. I think it's fixed but I'm not really certain.
I sent this and other messages in early Dec and got no response so here goes again. I bought what was a 8718 parts unit at the Ft Wayne hamfest and it now appears to be just about all there except for some jumpers. With Geoffs (he saw the unit) help I was able to recable it with some cobbled-up cables. It's totally deaf unless I connect directly to the mixer as follows.
I pulled the cover off the input converter and there is evidence that someone, not too good with an iron tried some soldering some components. One resistor wasn't reattatched. But resoldering it didn't help. I was able to clip onto the one the lead top leads of the mixer and the unit received fairly well, got all the local am stations, some 20 meter cw and ssb plus the 10 MHz WWV. and some CBers with a 5 foot piece of wire. However nothing but a strong signal gen will get thru the antenna connector on the input converter. With no schematic I'm guessing the mixer is a passive diode ring and has ablown diode, open or shorted I don't know. Can someone with schematic take a look and tell me what the mixer is?. Has anyone tried to repair these, or tis there a mini circuits block that can be adapted? A scan of the mixer would be nice if some on can email one.
    tnx
