I found a limited supply of replacement fasteners for the 8618 / 8617. One of my SIGINT friends came up with the correct parts and they are on the way. These are rare parts and I know he was reluctant to part with them.

I will continue to look for stores of the flush stud, bushing, and cross pin. These are hard to find parts. If locate a quantity of the original part I will share with the group. If someone else locates them I hope that they will do the same.

This might seem trivial but can bee aggravating. Many of our radios are missing bits of hardware, like quarter turn fasteners. This can be a pain to source. If you cannot find inventory you have to pay the factory a minimum lot charge and wait in the queue.

Most of the 8618 and 8617 variants use a flush mount cross recess stud, a bushing, and a cross pin. When the cross pin falls out it's bad news. You really need to be sure that none of the pieces stay inside the radio. Centrally located studs serve to hold cards and ground springs seated. The edge studs seat the outer EMI gaskets. It's important to keep the radios sealed for various reasons.

Fairchild Fastener will still make the components but I have not been able to locate any stock on-hand.

  Does anyone have any inventory?
