Blair,
You can do that today. I use an RFSPACE SDR-14 on the IF output of my
receiver's like the IC-R8500. It also allows me to see up to 4 MHz of
waterfal display centered on the radio's center frequency. I can also
demodulate two signals in any demod mode at the same time.
