Hi Dave,
   
  The STR 8212 is an HF rx with a 70MHz 1st if and has a dsp at the 2nd if of 50kHz.  They were only made as prototypes and a pre production run and suffered from a number of manufacturing faults (strong magnifying glass and small soldering iron required).  When working they perform very well but get rather warm even though they have two fans.  If you need any detailed information please contact me off list.
