[Premium-Rx] WJ-8712 gurus?

I had the T version in my hands for a while.  It had power supply problems
and was returned, so I never really figured it out.


The T presumably stands for Tempest.  I think the radio was based on the
8711 (pre A version), but I was not able to confirm this.  What I remember
is that the T is about the size of the regular radio, but comes in a very
heavy chassis with filters on many of the bnc lines that pass thru to the
back plate. The circuit boards inside look like the others, but I could get
the chip data to compare and I could not run the radio because of the power
issues. There is no service jack on the front.

I have a PDF version of the RS232 section of the manual for the 8712; it is
about 3 meg.  I can pass it on for posting on the website if there is
interest.
