Hi Guys,
I'm having a ball with my SDR interface connected to my RA6830. My module
plugs into the radio and looks like it came from Racal. The soft rock 40
guys are shipping their latest version softrock V6. All it would take is a
crystal change and input filter changed to a 50 ohm pad. The soft rock guys
are selling kits for $14 a lot cheaper than it cost me. fc

Thanks Spencer,
I only wish it had 5 complete RF paths! I suspect (will confirm later)
that there are 5 IF strips that follow a common RF and first IF path at
the standard Cubic 40.455 MHz IF freq. Not sure if there is a special
application that requires independently filtered yet simultaneous IF
outputs. Perhaps there are reasons to feed demodulators simultaneously
using different filter bandwidths? Optimized SNR Matched filtering?
Signal Recognition using varying bandwidths? It is possible that each
path has an independent BFO that allows a bunch of FSK signals clustered
around the central RF freq to be demodulated by a WJ-9815 or similar.
Odd...
Thanks for the input.
adam

I would suggest it is actually a DF receiver (common LO feeding the
individual RF/IFs). This allows external circuitry to be used to
determine
the differential between direction- time difference or however the
'spooks'
do it). Does it have five RF paths or just IF? Multiple IF paths alone
usually imply some flavor of ISB-like operation...
