Hi Folks,

I just purchased a Cubic R-3040 on ebay. Here's a link if you're
curious: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem

I suspect that it is a specialized HF receiver with multiple
simultaneous IFs (for the FAA?), and I bought it as a front-end for some
DSP radio experiments I am running. I haven't received it yet, but am
looking for anybody who's had experience with one of these. I found a
reference to the R-3050 in Fred's bible, but not the R-3040. I suspect
that I might be similar to a 3030 perhaps with some parallel IF strips
on the back of the 40.455 first IF? Not really sure what it's intended
application was. I plan to digitize the IFs for introduction into some
DSP downcoversion software I am writing. If there's any real-estate
inside, I might just put a TI or Analog Devices DSP board in for an
integrated demodulator option. Thanks for any leads . Educated guesses
welcome!
