Hi All
         The 8690 is part of a 1990s AMPS cellphone and[I think] 
Inmarsat monitoring system.From memory it
has 6 channels at an IF of 70Mhz with analogue to digital conversion at 
that frequency.Probably the DRS
RCS32 software with the appropriate plugin would run it.I also think 
that a downconverter for UHF in
a separate blackbox is needed.The current ebay listing from the UK is 
misleading as it is in no way similar
to an 8712 .I can provide more details in due course as I have the 
original DRS adwertisement for it some
where.It should also appear in Terry's or the Norwegian website's 1990s
