A prosperous New Year to all our Members--

After seven years of overseeing the Premium-Rx List, I have decided to
step down from my co-moderator position. For me, as I hope it has been
for the other 400+ members, this has been a most rewarding experience.
I share with you the pride that our Premium-Rx List is recognized as the
Internet address where detailed technical information about high-end
receiving equipment can be found.

My motivation for stepping down is to make way for a new List moderator,
a person that can not only fine tune the operation of our present
offerings, but also bring to it new ideas for future growth. Jan
Skirrow, my co-moderator, and I started to discuss this administrative
move approximately six months ago. We approached one of the members
with the idea, and after some discussion, some arm twisting, and a few
promises such as: 'I will assist if needed', we think we have the person
for the job.

In this regard, I am happy to announce that *John Collins*, as of today,
has assumed my role as co-moderator. John ( monitor -at-
referencevideo.com <mailto:monitor at referencevideo.com> ) joined the List
in January of 2000 and has been an active contributor of information.
He has a number of receivers including Cubics, WJs, and Racals (with a
few 390s thrown in for ballast). For the past two months John has been
working with Jan and me on the day-to-day administration of the List. I
plan to remain an active member of the List and look forward to reading
the daily technical chatter that we have shared for the past seven years.

In addition to my stepping aside, Jan has stated he will be following my
lead in the coming year. He shares with me the feeling that it is time
to step aside and let another person take the List to the next level.
At present Jan has been working with another one of our members in this
regard, and when they have reached a consensus that the torch can be
passed, he will notify the membership of the change. I think it is fair
to say that without Jan's backup and untiring hours of work, this List
would not be the technical reference point for which it is known.

Coincidentally, I would like to take this opportunity to announce that
one of our members, who prefers to remain anonymous, has made a
substantial financial donation to the Premium-Rx List. Jan estimates
that his financial gift, along with the donations received from a number
of List members a couple of years ago, will underwrite our cost of
operation for quite a few years to come. The gift was totally
unexpected, and I would like to think it was a vote of confidence for
our efforts thus far, and hopefully for many years to come.

I trust you will not fail to e-mail me if you plan to visit San Diego?
If I hear from you in advance we can share some time over lunch and
then make a 'raid' on Murphy's Surplus. My city is well known for it
climate, beaches, Zoo, Sea World, Lego Land, Balboa park, . . . and just
added to the list . . . Murphy's Surplus!

I leave you in the good hands of John and Jan- Best wishes to all, and
thanks for making this a super seven year experience-

Greg
