Howdy Folks
Seems my problems with my RA6790/GM involve the A4 filter board, I have
tried several filters and it keeps telling me it can not detect a filter in
slot one. How do I test Collins mechanical filters? If my filters are duds,
does anyone know where I can buy some more?

73 and thanks Lee

Lee, what kind of mechanical filters are you trying to use in the 6790? Do
you know what the proper values of the resonating caps are? Have you tried
putting one of the filters in slot 2? The way the 6790 is set up, only a
symmetrical 3.2KHz filter or a LSB filter should be installed in slot one. The 6790
uses slot one for both LSB/USB SSB and 3.2KHz BW if a symmetrical 3.2KHz filter
is put in slot 1, or LSB only if a LSB filter is put in slot 1. Gary Wingerd
has filters for sale for the 6790. 73 - Todd WD4NGG
