Hi All
I've just bought a Racal 9420 frequency standard as this is a better spec
drop in replacement for the 9442 used in the RA1792, RA1794, etc etc.
It turns out though that this one is actually a 9420P, with the P looking to
be an adhesive letter added to the nornal 9420 label.
Also, my first impression is that it's taller, at 3 3/4 inches, than a
"normal" 9420 or 9442 but my sets are in storage so can't make a direct comparison
and might be wrong on that anyway.
Anyone got any idea what the P denotes?, and confirmation on normal height
would be appreciated too.

Uh oh, the original freq standard in the RA1792 is about 2 inches tall. There
is only room for a can 2-3/8 inches tall under the top cover. It would fit in
a receiver like the RA6778B/C where there is plenty of room in the chassis
for a tall can. Don't know what the "P" denotes offhand. 73 Todd WD4NGG.
