Gentlemen,

P155 is basically a long range point-to-point communications receiver.
The remarkable piece of early synthesised receiver design with LC
bandpass filters, bank of reference oscillators etc etc. It employs
a direct frequency synthesis, the PLL tecnology came later. The receiver
was designed with RTTY in mind, hence frequency stability was a highest
priority. It is heavy even by russian standards. When asked about
that my russian friend replied: Well, that sort of things was designed by ordnance engineers, and electrical engineers had little to say about
that. 

This receiver has absolutely nothing in common with KROT, a rematkable
surveillance receiver designed for KGB. It can be regarded as one of the best tube era receivers ever made. By the way rumors that KROT is
a replica from German E52 have nothing to do with reality. But giong
further into details would be out of topic ...
